to listen to my speech (both in English and Spanish) in front of the mayor of Alcorcón, Madrid, Spain. In February of 2020, I travelled to Spain with my high school as an exchange student, where I stayed with my host family for about a month. This speech candidly reflects my and my partner's experience together.

Frame & Case Paper

This paper, in particular, titled "We Who Are Different," may be one of the best papers I've ever written. From my ENGL 1007 seminar, this paper delves into  Our race, genders,  personalities, and aspirations do not define our role as a scholar or human.

WHY ALL HIGH SCHOOLS  SHOULD ADOPT HERE COMES THE SUN BY NICOLE DENNIS-BENN INTO THEIR CURRICULUMS
nicole.jpeg

Mrs. McCormack was my Advanced Placement English Language & Composition teacher my junior year of high school. While still abiding by the AP curriculum, Mrs. McCormack always found a way for us to expand our knowledge and love for literature. She created her own project, which gave us creative freedom to pick our own novel of choice with one catch; the author could not be male or white. I chose Here Comes the Sun solely for the fact that Benn is of Jamaican decent and identifies as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

to view a remix of my Humans of Education Remix. This HoED project is a remake of the Humans of New York photoblog and encapsulates what education means to three UCONN students. Not only is it a glimpse into my life, but is a candid virtual presentation of the lives of three people who make my life mine.
